(From Clark Funeral Home)Mark Edward Starr was born June 11, 1951 in Iowa City, Iowa, one of four children to Oris L. and Dorothy I. (Pendleton) Starr. He entered into rest on January 27, 2023 in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 71.
Mark graduated from high school at Davenport, Iowa. He worked in automotive industry until becoming disabled. He moved to the area in 2007 from Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
He enjoyed playing card games with his family, rook, poker and acaey-deucy; playing pool, music, football, reading science fiction books and working on cars.
Mark is survived by two sisters, Valerie Slaughter and husband, Roger of Goodman, Missouri and Athene B. Brigham and husband, Bob of Wichita, Kansas and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David W. Starr.
