Eunice was born July 7, 1933 to parents Ray and Sabra (Kirby) Smith. She spent most of her life living on the family farm near Greenfield, MO, until she later moved to Springfield, MO.
She worked many years at Zenith Electronics and commuted with several folks from Greenfield while living there. Many friendships were made on those early morning and afternoon drives to and from work. Eunice always demonstrated a strong work ethic and was a great example for her children and grandchildren. After work, she spent many hours at ballfields over the years watching her boys and grandkids play sports. She was always quick to encourage and support them. Eunice was an impressive bowler and able to throw a strike into her later years. She also enjoyed playing cards, sewing and crocheting items for her family.
Eunice’s greatest role in life was that of a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful “from scratch” cook and had no greater joy than preparing large meals and favorite foods for her family, making sure no one ever left her house hungry. Her selfless nature was ever-present, always putting others before herself.
Eunice always made time for her family and was known to stay on the phone as long as any of her kids or grandkids wanted to talk. We will deeply miss her and those conversations.
