Patricia Rowland

Patricia Ann Rowland, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin after a recent decline in health.

Patricia entered this life on April 3, 1938, in West Plains, Missouri, daughter of the late James Henry and Nora Ella (Collins) Pliler. Patricia was a lifelong area resident of Webb City and Joplin. 

 

For several years she worked in housekeeping at the former Oak Hill Hospital and Joplin Health Care Center. She enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader and a talented poetry writer. Patricia was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmy Mitchell; two sisters, Barbara Davis and Ethel Thuser; and six brothers, Thurman Collins, Virgil Collins, James Collins, James Pliler, Joe Pliler and Larry Pliler.

Patricia is survived by her four children, Barbara Ann Mather and husband, Steve, of Webb City, Susan Mann of Joplin, Mary Moorehouse and husband, Allen, of Carthage and Dennis Porter also of Carthage; fourteen grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Koelling of Webb City; a special niece, Mary Pliler of Ft. Myers, Florida; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City with Bro. Gary Balfour officiating. Patricia’s grandsons will honor her life by serving as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
