(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)Reba Louise Rouse, 93, of Liberal, MO passed away on Saturday January 7, 2023. She was born on July 11, 1929, in Hannon, MO to Iona (Ricketts) and Glenn Baker. She was a 1947 graduate of Liberal High School in Liberal, MO.
Reba married Merle Rouse in Waldron, AR on October 22, 1947, and they remained married until his death in 2006. After they married, they lived in Arcadia and then moved to the farm on NN Highway at Prairie Center Corner in 1959.
Reba was a member of Hannon Free Will Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed the carry in dinners. For over 70 years, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 289 where she served in many positions as an officer and member. She also served at the state level. She was a cake baker and made many wedding cakes throughout her life. Reba was a patriotic, feisty lady who was loved and enjoyed by many.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine (Leroy) Castagno of Pittsburg, KS, and Nancy (Mark) Huser of Lockwood, MO; and grandchildren Greg (Sarah) Williams, Kristin (James) Lea, Gwynne (Ricky) Findley, Chance (Jordan) Dickey, Robby (Carly) Castagno, and Andy (Brittany) Castagno. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren;1 great great-grandchild; daughter-in-law Glenda Rouse; and son-in-law John Williams.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; children Rick Rouse and Cathy Williams; grandchildren Kaleigh Williams and Chad Dickey; and siblings Arlene Fast and Harold Baker.
If you would like to make a memorial contribution in lieu of flowers, the family suggests Hannon Free Will Baptist Church or Liberal City Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 7 PM on Thursday January 12, 2023, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Liberal City Cemetery on Friday January 13, 2023, at 11 AM.
