(From Parker Mortuary)Russell Odis Brock, age 67, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Freeman West in Joplin.
Russell was born January 4, 1955, in Joplin, son of the late Fred Brock and Carla (Milligan) Brock Hoag. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1973, and then served in the United States Marine Corp, returning to Joplin with the rank of Colonel after serving in Vietnam.
He went to work for his grandfather, Joe Milligan, in his Radiator Shop before going to work with O & F Machine Shop, and then with the Joplin R VIII School District in the warehouse department where he retired as a manager. He loved spending time with his family and bragging about being a Marine.
Survivors include his wife, Martha “Marty” Brock; daughter, Dr. Christi Brock of Kansas City, Missouri, and a son, James Russell Brock of Joplin; sisters, Teresa Keys of Carl Junction, Virginia Brock of Joplin, and Debra Brock of Arizona.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
No formal services are planned at this time.
