Ann Roby

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Ann Jarvis Roby, a Connecticut native with lifelong ties to Keene, Ann was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, and spent many happy summers visiting the cabin built by her father on Highland Lake in Stoddard.

Married to Frank Brown in 1956, she raised four children in Bethel CT, later moving to the Monadnock region. She had a keen interest in archaeology and studied for a time at Franklin Pierce College.

In later life, Ann married Carleton Roby, and lived in West Swanzey. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Ingram Construction.

After widowhood and retirement, she moved to Missouri, near her daughter Loren, who should be a candidate for sainthood. Mom passed away surprisingly peacefully, in the midst of a family cocktail party.

Ann leaves four children, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She had a keen wit and great intelligence. If you were in the mood for a lively time and a few ‘brown drinks’, head to Mom’s. Just don’t try to beat her at scrabble. She always wins. Rest in peace, Mom.
