Jim Bruns

James “Jim” Bruns, age 86 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.

He was born October 12, 1936, in Waverly, Iowa to Richard and Ethel (Boveia) Bruns.

Jim retired from the City of Joplin as a mechanic, where he also worked for the Parks Department. He enjoyed years of volunteering at Watered Gardens and helping others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Bruns, his parents, two brothers, (Richard Bruns and Jack Bruns), and his stepson, John Davenport.

Jim is survived by two sons, Dan Bruns and wife, Carlene, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Kevin Bruns, Cedar Falls, Iowa: two daughters, Charis Seaton and husband Lynn, Joplin, Missouri, and April Ford and husband, Corey, Republic, Missouri. He is also survived by his grandsons, Nathan Bruns, Wesley Bruns, Tyler Bruns, Chandler Tarrant, and Keaten Tarrant, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Graveside committal services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Ozark
Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, Mo.
