Margie Carter

Margie Annette Carter, age 82, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Webb City, Missouri the daughter of Paul and Hazel Nadine (Mancill) Buttrum. On June 21, 1968 in De Soto, Kansas she was united in marriage to Ellis “Buck” Carter, who preceded her in death on July 31, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three sons, Greg, Danny and Ronald and two brothers, Calvin and Paul.








Surviving are three sons, Johnny Carter of Kansas City, Kansas, Donald Sayree and Casey Sayree; one daughter-in-law, Sarah Edwards; one step-daughter, Nancy Taffner and her husband Charles of Jasper, Missouri; two brothers, Jim and Bob; one sister, Dorothy and five grandchildren, Lisa Marie Edwards, Elizabeth Ann Edwards, Charlie Taffner, Ellis Taffner and Janey Herbinger.

Margie grew up and attended school in Webb City, Missouri graduating from Webb City High School. She was employed by Alexander’s in Kansas City, Kansas from where she retired as plant manager. Margie also ran a seamstress business from her home. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to the lake house and her cats, Stormy Sandman and Hazel Nadine but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.








Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Chaplain Mark Flora-Swick will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to Phoenix Hospice in Overland Park, Kansas.
