Dorothy Epperson

Dorothy Mae Epperson, 78, of Goodman, Missouri, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away from natural causes at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri on Friday, October 27, 2023. Born in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on May 3, 1945, to the late Clarence “Bud” and Imogene (Broadricks) Deaton. Dorothy lived a life full of creativity, kindness, and dedication to her family.

Dorothy was raised in Wyandotte, graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1963. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Dorothy worked at several local businesses, including Kraft Foods, Big Smith, McClintock's IGA, and the Neosho Rec Center.






 

Dorothy was known for her creative spirit. She had a fondness for crocheting and ceramics, often creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her creative pursuits extended to her love for the outdoors as well. She enjoyed camping trips to Roaring River State Park and cherished her visits to Colorado.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-eight years, Darrel Epperson, Sr.; a great-grandson, Wyatt; two brothers, L.E. and Leon Deaton; and a sister, Rosie Jones.








Dorothy is survived by her three children, Darrel Epperson, Jr. and wife, Michelle, Darrin Epperson, and Dorena Epperson, all of Goodman, Missouri. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dorothy also leaves behind her three sisters, Sharon Forrest and husband, George, of Seneca, Missouri, Linda Bowles and husband, Shawn, of Neosho, Missouri, and Pam Deaton of Decatur, Arkansas.

Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey. Her memory will serve as a reminder of the strength and beauty that can be found in a life well-lived.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
