Sheila Pennington

Sheila I. Pennington, 58, of Bartlett, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at her home.

Sheila Illene Shelton was born on October 3, 1965, to Ernest Allen and Cora Illene (LaPee) Shelton in Columbus, Kansas. She grew up in the Labette County area.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her friends and her dog, Sooner.

Survivors include:

Two daughters – Jerri Shelton of Joplin, Missouri

Sara Yeahquo and her husband, Jason, of Oklahoma

Eight grandchildren - Jasmyn, Caitlyn, Adrian, Kylie, Jayde, Jaxon, Arabella, and Atlas

Six brothers – Jerry Barker of Bartlett, Kansas

Johnny Shelton of Tyler, Texas

Richard Shelton of Excelsior Springs, Missouri

Ernest Lee (Pete) Shelton of Lewisville, Arkansas

Ernest Shelton Jr. of Columbus, Kansas

John Shelton of Columbus, Kansas

Four sisters – Rozena Farrow of Bartlett, Kansas

Peggy Pruit of Bella Vista, Arkansas

Betty Jo Feilds of Jane, Missouri

Dee Bear of Hope, Arkansas

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Debra Shewbirt.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa.
