(From Daniel Funeral Home)Jack D. Workman, age 83, of Nevada, Missouri passed away October 23, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.
Jack was born December 13, 1939 in Lamar, Missouri to Jewel Bertice Workman and Helen Jean (Faubion) Workman. Jack graduated from Liberal High School in the class of 1957 and Barber School in Kansas City, Missouri. On September 10, 1961, Jack married Frances Maxine Pearson in Nevada, MO.
Jack worked as a barber at Bob Allen's Barber Shop and retired from Nevada State Hospital as a barber, he was the first licensed barber to work there. He loved gardening and was a huge Mizzou football and baseball fan.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; two sons, Darren Workman of Grove, Oklahoma and Mitch (Jenny) Workman of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter, Kelli (Bill) Redburn of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kourtney Workman, Emily Redburn and Allison Redburn; one brother, Jerry (Jerri) Workman of Liberal, Missouri; four sisters, Jill (David) Butler, of Lamar, MO., Jean Overstreet of Liberal, MO., Judy (Larry) Marti of Lamar, MO., and Jolene Selvey of Liberal, MO; and close friend, Jarrett Owen.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and two nieces, Traci Butler and Kaelee Marti.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO. A private family burial will be held.
