Loraine Robinett

Violet L. “Loraine” Robinett, 82, of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2023 after a short illness. Loraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

She was born to the late George and Neita (Moten) Gregory on December 5, 1940 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. Loraine was raised in Stillwell, graduating from Stillwell High School in 1959. She later received her BA in Business Education from Missouri Southern State University in 1992.

She married the late James R. “Ronnie” Robinett in 1965, and they lived together in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Springfield, Missouri and Joplin Missouri until his passing in 1984. Loraine was a dedicated homemaker for many years and later worked managing medical offices. She was also a prolific reader and collector who enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her family.

Loraine was predeceased by her parents, George and Neita, her husband, Ronnie, and her brother, Hershel Gregory, and is survived by two sons and daughters in-law, James David (and Dru) Robinett, of Austin, Texas; Steven Lee (and Amy) Robinett, of Joplin, Missouri; two grandchildren, Emily Robinett and James Grant Robinett; two brothers, Johnny Darrell Gregory and Travis Gregory, and one sister, Vivian Stout.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Carl Junction Cemetery, 403 North County Road 275, Carl Junction, Missouri 64834. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Loraine’s name to Watered Gardens Ministries or the American Cancer Society.
