Sherry Perkins

Sherry Lynn Perkins, age 77, passed away on October 12, 2023. She was born on April 10, 1946, to her parents, Ralph Dahnke and Lois Davis Dahnke. 

Sherry was a proud graduate of Granby High School and spent her life as a dedicated resident of the area she called home. She also studied at Crowder College, where she was homecoming queen in 1965. 

Her career was as diverse as her interests, which included working in nursing at Sale Hospital, employment with Big Smith, and Decorative Wire. She ultimately retired from La-Z-Boy, where she worked in the sewing room. 








Sherry's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Methodist Church. She found fellowship and shared moments with various groups, including Silver Follies, Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and the New Comers. 

Her interests spanned a wide range of activities, including being an avid reader, playing dominos with family, painting, riding motorcycles, and lending her voice to the choir as a vocalist. She was also a talented pianist and organist, spreading the joy of music to all those around her.

Sherry is survived by her loving daughter, Stacy Hutchins, and her husband, Michael, of Neosho, as well as her two cherished granddaughters, Heather McBryde and her husband, Justin, of Olathe, Kansas, and Kimberly Hutchins of Neosho. She adored her three great-grandchildren, Kourtney, Kacee, and Kamryn McBryde. Sherry's sister, Anita Reed, and her husband, Dave, of Neosho, Missouri, were a source of comfort and connection. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends. 

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Dahnke and Lois Davis Dahnke, her siblings, Lois Lee Metcalf, Judy Dahnke, and R.L. Dahnke and her husband Ron Fleming.

The family will receive friends on October 19, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri. An open casket will be available for friends to view and pay their respects during this time. A funeral service to celebrate Sherry's life will follow at 10:00 AM, during the service the casket will be closed and remain closed, and interment will take place at Granby Memorial Cemetery. 








At the family's request, donations can be made in contribution to Clark Funeral Home, to help with funeral expenses.

Sherry Lynn Perkins will be remembered for her servitude heart, her love of music, her dedication to her community, and her unwavering faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
