(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Our beloved wife and mother MaDeanne A. Whitmarsh, age 69, of Joplin, Missouri was ushered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 8, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Evertt and Cordelia (Blocher) Kuns.
She spent most of her childhood exploring Oklahoma during her father’s ministry. Toward the end of her father’s ministry, they settled back in Tulsa, OK.
In her late teens, MaDeanne met the love of her life, Gary, who she referred to as “Babe,” during a sweetheart banquet over the last piece of coconut cream pie. That connection created a bond that would soon lead them to marriage. On January 5, 1973, they took their vows and became one; creating a long lasting unity of love for 50 years. Together, they were an inseparable couple.
Throughout the years, the couple blessed their community through Gary’s calling into the ministry. MaDeanne had a passion for singing and became an anchor in the church's music ministry through her beautiful voice as she sang and played the piano. Her singing was like the voice of angels. Her piano playing and singing blessed and encouraged many hearts.
MaDeanne had a love for sewing. Her talent ranged from making her daughter’s beautiful wedding dress, to making detailed quilts that her family will enjoy and share for many years to come.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary Whitmarsh, one daughter and one son: NeCole (Jamin) Hess, Anthony (Jill) Whitmarsh. Also, surviving are 7 grand-children: DezRae (Luke) Gibbs, ClaRissa (Connor) Menden, Gabe Whitmarsh, Zachary Hess, Isaac Whitmarsh, Julian Whitmarsh, Aubrey Whitmarsh; and one great grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday October 27, 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am Friday prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
