James Stauber

James B. Stauber, 93, of Noel, Missouri passed peacefully in his home on his family farm in Noel, Missouri, on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

James was born March 11, 1930, on the family farm in Noel, Missouri to Martin S. Stauber and Pearl Rose Stauber. He grew up on the family farm in Noel and graduated from Noel High School in 1948. After completing high school, James attended the University of Missouri, and in 1951 was drafted by the military, joining the United State Marine Corps.








James returned to Noel after his Marine Corp service, and married Joan Porterfield on May 27th, 1955.

James and Joan operated the Stauber Farm as a dairy operation from 1955 until 1970, continuing then with beef cows, hay, and crop production. James and Joan received recognition as a Missouri Century Farm in 2012.

James served the community in many ways, serving on the Noel School Board, and then as a school board member for the McDonald County School District when it was formed in 1967. He was an active member of the Noel Kiwanis Club, serving a term as President. James was a member of the Noel United Methodist Church, serving on the Administrative Board and as Treasurer for over 25 years. James was a 5-gallon blood donor to the American Red Cross, and James and Joan provided land for a youth baseball field for Noel in the early 1980’s.

James is survived by son Robert Stauber and wife Dawn of Noel, and son James B. Stauber III of Noel. James leaves a sister, Shirley McAlister of Sun City, Arizona, and brother Martin S. Stauber of Bozeman, Montana.

Surviving grandchildren are Denae Murphy of Noel, Cherie Raygoza and husband Ruben of Edwardsville, KS, April Denney, and husband Kyle of Claremore, OK, and Martin Stauber and wife Amanda of Menomonie, WI.

Surviving great grandchildren are Treyton Murphy and wife Kirsten of Noel, Jace Murphy of Noel, Lalynd Stauber of Neosho, MO, Xavier Raygoza of Edwardsville, KS, Taylie Stauber of Noel, Chaelynn Stauber of Noel, Jheylie Stauber of Noel, Anthony Raygoza of Edwardsville, KS, Aavynd Stauber of Noel, Rhett Denney of Claremore OK, and Kash Denney of Claremore, OK.








James was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Joan Stauber, a sister, Col. Ruby R. Stauber, and his parents Martin S. and Pearl R. Stauber, and by granddaughter Haley Stauber, and great granddaughters Mercy Dawn Denney, and Grace JoAnn Denney.

Visitation for James at the Noel United Methodist Church, 106 St. John Street, Tuesday, October 17th, at 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Bob Howard will officiate. Great grandsons and grandson will serve as pall bearers, with Honorary Pall Bearers Jack Allman, Frank Meador, Ron Saunders, Robert Porterfield, Clifford Thornton, Steve McCullough, Ray Adair, and Mike Strickland. Interment will follow the service at the Stauber Family Cemetery, on the Stauber Family Farm in Noel, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being directed to the Noel United Methodist Church, c/o funeral home.
