(From Ferry Funeral Home)Clayton Eugene Jones, Sr., 65, Walker, MO, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Carthage following a long battle with COPD. Clayton was born August 13, 1958 in Osceola, MO to Mason H. and Martha L. (Drake) Jones.
He married Marliessa Corder on November 23, 1979 in El Dorado Springs, MO and she survives of the home.
Clayton was raised in El Dorado Springs and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School Class of 1976. Following high school Clayton went to work for a traveling carnival, “Hale’s Show of Tomorrow."

While traveling he met his future wife in Kearney, NE. After his marriage to Marliessa, they spent ten years in Nebraska then came back to El Dorado Springs for a short time before moving to rural Walker. He worked at O’Sullivan Industries in Lamar until their closing in 2007, then began a career as a truck driver, driving for D & D Sexton until his retirement in 2020.
Clayton was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs. Those who knew Clayton knew his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
In addition to his wife, Marliessa, he is survived by three children: Clayton Jones, Jr. and his fiancé, Kena McGhee, Walker, Amber Nelson and her fiancé, Robert Lame, El Dorado Springs, and Mason Jones (Casey), Walker; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Tre, Tayven, Marie, Kayla, Macey, and Marissa; two sisters, Connie Leonard and her husband John, Harwood, and Janice Potter, Webb City, MO; two brothers, John Jones and his wife Trish, Columbus, MS, and Randy Jones and his wife Tracy, Warsaw, KY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mason, Jr., and Jim; and two nephews, Gary Isaacs, and Mason Jones, III.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs with Rev. Jack Daniel officiating.
