Geraldine Aleshire

Geraldine (Money) Aleshire, age 94 of Highlandville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 29, 2023. She had battled breast cancer and had been diagnosed with colon cancer a year ago. She was born February 3, 1929 in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of Dora Mae Money.

On August 27, 1955, Geraldine was united in marriage to Lawrence Odell Aleshire in Hernando, Mississippi. Lawrence preceded Geraldine in death on April 10, 2020.

Geraldine and Lawrence owned and operated a dairy farm. Geraldine enjoyed shopping, eating out, yard sales, clipping coupons, sewing, patching, playing Rummy and Wahoo, and taking care of her grandchildren. Geraldine was saved and baptized when she was in her 70's.

Survivors include: her children, Alan Aleshire and Karen of Carthage and Brenda Dye and Kim of Highlandville; grandchildren, great grandchildren; a cousin, Randall Mathis; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother; a daughter, Melisa Harp; and her cousins, Joyce Cook, Helen Houghton and Ann Urquhart.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 3, 2023 at Union Cemetery in Stotts City, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Allen Maples officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Geraldine's caregivers, Beverly Cochran, Bernie Kirk, and Sheila Baumgartner. They made her life better this past year.
