(From Ozark Funeral Home)
Cleo Mae Crosby, 88, of Noel, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born November 25, 1934 to the late Virgil and Lorna “Scalph” Grunden in Joplin, Missouri. She married Oman Crosby in 1955 and to this union five children were born.
We have never known anyone as willing to help, willing to give, willing to work than Cleo. She will literally give her last dollar and her own clothes, food, and time, to help someone in need. She was by far the most giving and caring person.
For someone who lived so simply, she accomplished more than most. She has served on Senior Citizen boards, Booster Club boards, chaperoned countless band trips and events, resident commissioner on the Housing board, been recognized by a State Senator and the list goes on and on.
Not only a great servant in life, she was also one of the most talented people you could have ever met. Her sewing capabilities were some of the most amazing work you would ever see. And her crafting talent was just as incredible. Her grandchildren grew up watching people come into her house almost weekly trying on dresses or looking at material. The grandchildren remember countless nights falling asleep to the sound of her sewing machine running in the next room as she was working late into the night to finish up a project. It became a comforting sound to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oman Crosby; brother, Virgil Grunden and a daughter, Faith Head.
