Ione Weston

Ione Maxine Weston was born May 3, 1928, in Jasper, MO and passed away October 9, 2023, at her home in Broken Arrow surrounded by her family.

Ione is preceded in death by her loving parents Jennings & Marie Henderson, her sons Michael and Curtis, and her brother Eugene Henderson. 

She is survived by her husband James of 70 years, her granddaughters Jenifer Franco and husband Brian, Christi Ballinger and husband James, April Burrow and husband Arthur, and Rebecca Weston, daughter-in-law Melody Weston-Marsh, 19 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sincere love and appreciation for her niece Pam Rutledge of Iowa, LA who cared for her in the final weeks, alongside Ione's granddaughters.

Ione and James met on a blind date in Joplin, MO and married just a few months later in July of 1953. Together they welcomed their first son Curtis James in 1956 and Michael Jay in 1958. They moved to Tulsa, and settle in Broken Arrow, OK in the early 1970's. She was a loving wife and mother. 

Known also for her classy style. She worked for Macy's in Joplin, MO, mmCohns at Utica Square in Tulsa and Reed's Dress Wear in Tulsa, styling many women to the "tee." Ione's customers valued her style, customer service and attention to detail. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
