Carlene Morrison

Carlene (Car) Morrison, 66, of Monett, MO, peacefully passed away (surrounded by family) in her home on Tuesday, October 17th.

Born January 8th, 1957 in Purdy, MO, Car was the daughter of the late Buck Brandt and Toby Morris Perkins. On November 12th, 1982, she was united in marriage to Joel Morrison in Miami, OK.

Carlene was known by many friends as “Side-Carlene” due to frequently being seen riding in the sidecar of Joel’s Harley Davidson.

Carlene and Joel were avid motorcycle lovers, and participated in several charity events for MDA and Toys for Tots. In more recent years, friends and family would see Car buzzing around town, driving down the middle of the road, in her wheelchair.

Family, especially grandchildren, were Car’s greatest joy. She would often call and ask them to stay the night. They would help her around the house, and get treated with candy and sweets. She loved playing Yahtzee or Sorry with family and friends, oftentimes winning.

She was generous, loving, and kind; but could also be a little sassy, some might even say ornery.

Survivors include one son: Bucky Morrison (girlfriend Kathy) of Monett, MO; and two daughters: Chrissy Dennis (husband Donny) of Rogers, AR; and Jenny Moennig (husband Danny) of Monett, MO; along with three grandchildren: Dane Moennig (fiance Emma) of Joplin, MO; Vansen Moennig of Monett, MO; and Bishop Morrison of Monett, MO.

Carlene was preceded in death by her husband Joel Morrison; three brothers: Bucky Brandt, Mike Reavis, and Ronnie Milward; and one sister: Charlene Hagebusch.

Visitation for Car is being held on Thursday October 19, 2023 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Graveside services are being held on Friday October 20, 2023 at 10L00a.m. at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Missouri.
