Amanda Smith

Born Amanda Elizabeth Owens September 9, 1926, the youngest of seven children born to E.G. “Red” Owens and Lou (Hines) Owens.

‘Mandy Beth’ was born in Duenweg Mo. And grew up in the small community of Scotland about two miles east of there. She graduated from Duenweg High School.

She married Conrad Hackleman on August 2, 1946. They had two children, Ricki Lynn, and Tommy Conrad.

Widowed in 1959, she remarried in 1961 having another son Richard Brett Smith (deceased 1993).

After retiring from Eagle Picher Industries Amanda enjoyed spending time with her family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Amanda is survived by two children, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and ten great, great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by both parents, both husbands, six siblings and one son.

Visitation for Amanda will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 12:30 - 1:30 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with graveside services to follow at 2:00pm at Sterling Cemetery in Carthage, MO.
