Hank Chavez

Henry (Hank) Jesse Chavez was born September 13th, 1952, in Port Huron, Michigan to Felipe and Ruth Chavez. He departed this life on October 13th, 2023, at his home. His parents and his brother John Chavez preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Dalonna (Schadel) Chavez of 42 years, his stepson Jamie Raven (Shawnee, KS), son Jesse Chavez Sr. (Carthage, MO), daughter Amanda Chavez (Joplin, MO), and his 11 grandchildren. Jasmine Tisdale, Jesse Chavez Jr., Bela Chavez, Annabel Meredith, Jack Raven, Truman Raven, Miles Raven, Rayann Meredith, Isiah Chavez, Eliana Triplett and McKinley Chavez. He is also survived by siblings Linda Chavez, Conifer, Co, Joe Chavez, Port Huron MI, and Phil Chavez, Vacaville, CA.








He worked in woodworking making cabinets for many years. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and academics. He was a movie buff, liked sci-fi, nature and growing flowers. He played guitar and played with a garage band, Axe&Co. He was a life-long Chiefs fan. Game day was always special because the family would gather to eat and cheer on their team. He will be missed.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Our Father’s House, 1101 S Picher, Joplin, Mo. at 11:00 AM. The body has been cremated with Ozark Memorial Park.
