(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Gerald Lee Watts, age 64, passed away at Freeman Hospital in Neosho on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on December 10, 1958 to the late Barbara (Marrow) Watts Crane and Jerry Watts. He was raised by Barbara and his step-father, the late Roe Crane.
Gerald was born in Encino, CA and lived there until he was 2 years old. He was the oldest of 10 children. He grew up in the Milo, MO area, then moved to McDonald County, MO. After high school, Gerald joined the Missouri National Guard and served for over 18 years.
He grew up around heavy equipment and farming. While in the guards, he worked on and operated heavy equipment. He worked at Tatum Motor and Moark Production, and also farmed for others.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 23 years, Peggy (Cooper) Watts, and three sons; Gerald Jr., Justin, and Jacob. He leaves 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family.
With his health declining, he spent more time at home with his beloved animals. Gerald had a very tender heart for animals, especially his dogs and cat.
Please join Gerald’s family at New Life Church, 427 New Life Lane in Anderson, MO on Saturday, November 11 from 10 AM until 12 PM, as they celebrate and remember their loved one. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory in Joplin, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate either money or food to your local animal shelter.
