Marie Hyde

Marie R. Hyde, 56, of La Russell, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. 

Marie was born in Defiance, Ohio, on November 22, 1966, to Jennings Hyde and Phyllis (Baker) Unger. She lived in Preble County, Ohio her whole life except the last couple of months. She moved to the Jasper County area due to illness. 

Marie loved to spend time outdoors. She was a sweet and outgoing woman with a loud and contagious laugh. She was “mom” to many honorary sons and daughters, and she loved her dog, Bela.

Marie is survived by her son, Austin Chaffee (Elizabeth) of La Russell, Missouri; daughter, Megan Wysong (Kevin) of Eaton, Ohio; honorary son, Mason Jones of Miamisburg, Ohio; sister, Mona Hyde of Eaton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Myles, Eli, Hayden, Tanner; nephew, O’Rion Garcia (Heather); and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gail Unger; sister, Monica Hyde; and nephew, Cale Clinger.
Per Marie’s wishes, she will be cremated and returned home to Ohio.
