(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Shirley Ann Green, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Webb City, Missouri, on November 12, 2023. Born on October 22, 1937, in Dexter, Missouri, Shirley lived a life marked by intelligence, warmth, and selflessness, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley was raised in Dexter, where she graduated from Dexter High School. Her strong will and intelligence were evident from an early age, traits that served her well throughout her life. Following her graduation, she embarked on a successful career with Yellow Freight, where she served as an office manager until her retirement.
Shirley was a woman of many interests, with travel being one of her greatest passions. She loved exploring new places and cultures, always returning home with fascinating stories and a broader perspective on life. Her strong-willed nature was evident in her travels, as she was never deterred by the unknown but rather embraced it with open arms.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Green, her son Terry Green, and her grandson Michael Green. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving family members. These include her two children, Rhonda Davis and her husband, Fred, of Webb City, Missouri, and Pam Green of St. Louis, Missouri. She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Joe LaBanca, Julie Jauregui and her husband, Greg, Ryan Green and his wife, Dana, and Tyler Green and his wife, Autumn. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Garner of Springfield, Missouri, a daughter-in-law, Janet Green, and a host of other family and friends.
Shirley was known for her friendly nature and her willingness to always lend a helping hand. She was a pillar of strength for her family, providing guidance and support in times of need. Her selfless nature was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
