Terry Long

Terry Lee Long, 39, of Webb City, Missouri, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away tragically on November 5, 2023, in Carl Junction, Missouri. Born on September 18, 1984, in Springfield, Missouri, Terry's infectious laughter and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Terry's early life was shaped by the love and guidance of his parents, Stephen Long and Deborah (Hensley) Gordon, and his brothers, Paul and Gary Long, who preceded him in death. His family was his anchor, and he carried their teachings and values throughout his life. Terry's family extended beyond his immediate kin, as he was also blessed with a stepfather, Albert Gordon, two stepbrothers, Albey Gordon and Little C Gordon, and a stepsister, Angel Gordon.








In his adult life, Terry found love and companionship with his wife, Charity Long. Together, they built a beautiful family that included three children, Donavan Showalter, Mariea Nester, and Peyton McGuirk, and two stepchildren, Steven Showalter and Joshua Thompson. Terry's love for his family was evident in his every action, and he took great pride in their accomplishments. His brothers, Shawn Long and Al Harlen, and sister, Eva Long, also survive him, along with a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Terry's professional life was dedicated to serving his community as a Groundskeeper at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. His work ethic and dedication were admired by all who worked with him. He took great pride in maintaining the cemetery, ensuring it was a peaceful and beautiful place for families to remember their loved ones.

Terry was a man of simple pleasures. He loved being outdoors, simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Music was another of Terry's passions. His eclectic taste ranged from classic rock to country, and he was known to break into song at any given moment. Terry was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a funny story to make everyone laugh. His sense of humor and love of life were infectious, and he had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel special and loved.








He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of music, and his ability to bring joy to any situation. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Terry Lee Long's legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and he will be deeply missed.

Memorial services are pending at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
