(From Simpson Funeral Home)With great love and sadness, we announce the passing of our spirited and loving mother, Juanita Maxine Miller, on July 29, 2024, just six days after her 84th birthday. Born on July 23, 1940, in Salina, Kansas, to Willbur and Maxine Ashton, Juanita, known fondly as "Nita," was a beacon of resilience and wit, who lived her life with an unmatched zest.
Juanita was an incredible woman who touched many lives with her vibrant personality. She was a successful salesperson and merchandiser, retiring in 1992 from Target in Hutchinson, Kansas. Her resilience and dedication earned her the title of TOPS Queen. But her accomplishments were not limited to her professional life.
Juanita was a passionate fisherwoman, a skilled bowler, and a valued member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Her love for dance was infectious, she was a wizard at card games, and her cooking was the heart of the many family gatherings she loved to host, particularly during the holidays. Juanita provided that warmth, not just through her delicious meals, but through her love and care for her family.
Juanita was a testament to the strength of love and family. She married the love of her life, Robert Miller, on September 29, 1957, and they spent many wonderful years together until his passing. She was also a loving mother to their daughters Debbie Soto and Shelly (John, Jr.) Alexander; sons, David (Melanie) Miller, Robert Miller and Scott Miller; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
