(From Clark Funeral Home)Gordon Leroy Cunningham, age 75, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 24, 1949, in Anderson, Missouri, to Thomas and Ada (Stamps) Cunningham.
Gordon was a lifelong are resident and a proud member of the local community. He married Betty L. Gratton on November 1, 1974, and the two shared 36 years of love and partnership until her passing on November 12, 2010. Gordon's love for Betty was a constant throughout his life, and he cherished their time together.
A man of many passions, Gordon was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. In his younger days, he played baseball on city leagues and was known for his competitive spirit. He was also an enthusiastic reader, always seeking knowledge and enjoying books of all kinds.
Gordon was the proud father of two stepdaughters Christy Guy of Joplin, MO, and Cheryl Harper. He was a loving grandfather to Terra (Todd) Clouse of Granby, MO. He had the joy of being a great-grandfather to four wonderful great-grandchildren: Alison, Jessica, Grace, and Gavin Clouse, also of Granby, MO. Gordon is also survived by his siblings: Rick Usery, Randy Christian, Dena Pugh, Rayna Parsons, and Linda Geer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty, stepdaughter Cheryl Harper, siblings Bryan Cunningham, Guy Cunningham, Beverly Cunningham and Terry Cunningham, along with his cherished dog Toby, who was a constant companion throughout the years.
Gordon’s family will miss his kind and generous nature, his love for life, and the wisdom he shared. He was a devoted family man and a true friend to many. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
