(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Blake Thomas Ward, age 32 of Joplin, MO., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Blake was born on December 22, 1992, in Joplin, the son of Charles and Becky (Johnston) Ward. Blake was a graduate of Joplin High School. He would go on to be the goalie for NEO Soccer, becoming part of the Soccer Alumni. Blake would then attend the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
He was working in logistics for Uni-Shippers in Kansas City, KS., before falling ill. Blake was a long-time member of Wildwood Baptist Church. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Sporting KC fan and loved attending as many country music concerts as he could. He enjoyed fishing and both types of golf, traditional and disc. But most importantly, Blake loved spending time with his family. Always trying to get everyone together for a game or just to spend time with each other.
He is survived by his parents; Chuck and Becky, his brother; Garrett Ward and wife Katie, and their two children; Poppy and Teddy, his grandfather; Tom Johnston, grandmother; Mary Ward, and many loving friends and family
Blake was preceded in death by his grandmother; Judy Johnston, and grandfather; Clarence Ward.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Wildwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, MO. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
