(From Ozark Funeral Home)Alan Lee Slinkard, age 68, of Jane, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. He entered this life on August 1, 1957, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the eldest of four children born to the union of the late Jimmy Lee and Orva Dee (Reynolds) Slinkard.
Alan was raised in Hiwasse, Arkansas, and during his junior year of high school, he moved to Jane, Missouri, graduating from McDonald County High School in 1975.
In 1994, Alan made his home in Montrose, Colorado, where he worked in construction, as a hunting guide, and as an oil field truck driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to take on whatever task needed to be done. Following a massive stroke, he returned home to Jane, Missouri, in 2016, where he assisted his son Chad on the family farm. Even after facing serious health challenges, he remained committed to being useful, staying close to the land, and contributing in the ways he could.
Alan was a true outdoorsman. He loved his cattle, his dogs, and especially his grandchildren, who brought great happiness to his life. Whether he was working outdoors, spending time with animals, or enjoying the company of family, he was most content when surrounded by the simple things he loved.
