(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Patti Jo Ireland (Boswell, Paternostro) entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following a brief illness.
Patti was born on December 28, 1957, in Joplin, Missouri. A graduate of Pierce City High School, she spent most of her life in Pierce City and Wentworth, Missouri, where she built a life centered on family, service, and caring for others.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Frances (Carver) Boswell, and her husband Lee Ireland.
She is survived by one brother, Joe Boswell, Jr. (Jennifer) of Molalla, Oregon; daughters Mandi Paternostro (Zeb) and Sarah Paternostro (Jacob); son Tony Paternostro; one niece, Bella: one nephew, Lucas, ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved cousins and extended family members.
Throughout her life, Patti devoted herself to children and families in her community. She operated Paternostro Family Daycare out of her home for many years, providing loving care to countless children. She also served as a Family Advocate for OACAC Head Start in Monett, Missouri. Her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on the families she served.
After retirement, Patti found her greatest joy in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with family, and working in her yard. She was a deeply loved Mother, Maw, and friend. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
