Raena Carpenter

Raena Carpenter, age 66, of Monett, MO, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Cox-South Hospital in Springfield, MO, with family by her side.

Raena was born on June 3, 1959, in Monett, MO, daughter of the late Cyrus Fred and Gloria Faye (Nichols) Carpenter. She graduated from Monett High School with the Class of 1977. Nae has always had a beautiful soul. Loved by many and spread her love to all.

She loved watching out the windows for the birds. Made sure their feeders were always full. Music was always a part of her day. She'd be jamming out to some old music throughout the day or watching her Hallmark movies. Stormy cloudy days were her favorite. They were the best days for napping and being lazy. At the end of the day, she was someone you could sit and talk with for hours. Caring for those she holds most dearest and spreading love to all. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Monett.

Raena is survived by her nephew, Greyden Crawford and wife Madelyn of Monett; one sister, Julie Carpenter and Ray Tucker of Monett; one sister-in-law, Debbie Carpenter-Craig and husband Walker of Monett; two great-nieces, Layla and Azrya Crawford; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Raena was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Reggie Carpenter and one sister, Lisa Crawford.

Funeral services for Ms. Carpenter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Tharp will officiate. Interment will follow at Calton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been requested to the Calton Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
