(From Clark Funeral Home)It is with a heavy yet grateful heart that we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Sue (Neff) Seaman, who left this world on April 23, 2026, at Freeman West Hospital. Gwen was born on July 9, 1954, in Joplin, Missouri, to Archie Merle Neff and Iva Noreen Rich. She was 71 years young.
Gwen was a gentle, loving soul who touched countless lives through her warmth and quiet strength. A proud graduate of Neosho High School (Class of 1972), she went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Missouri Southern State University. Her heart always belonged to education and helping others. She taught high school students, poured herself into her work at Turnaround Ranch, and served as a beloved paraprofessional in the Carl Junction School System. Even in retirement, she continued shining her light by working with developmentally disabled adults through Firefly, offering patience, kindness, and encouragement to everyone she met.
Her life was deeply rooted in her strong Christian faith. Gwen was a faithful and active member of Community Chapel in Joplin, where she found great joy in sharing scripture and lifting others up. She had a beautiful way of reminding everyone around her that “All Is Well,” words that brought comfort to so many.
Gwen found simple pleasures in the beauty of God’s creation. She adored nature and flowers—especially her beloved purple irises. A fresh bouquet was almost always gracing her kitchen table, and she cherished the stained-glass irises she brought home from Eureka Springs. But nothing brought her more joy than her family. She was the sweetest “Grammy Gwen” to her grandchildren, who will always remember her love, her stories, and the thoughtful books she lovingly chose for them each Christmas and birthday.
Gwen is survived by her loving stepdaughters, Vanessa (Jeremy) Vaughan and Heather Huffhines, both of Loma Linda, Missouri; her daughter, Malayla (Sean) Bradford of Joplin, Missouri; her three precious grandchildren; her sister, Vicky Michael of Seneca, Missouri; and her former husband and dear friend, Kyle Seaman of Joplin, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service to celebrate Gwen’s life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Banner Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. All who loved her are warmly invited to attend and share in remembering the beautiful light she brought into this world.
Though she has gone home to be with the Lord, the love Gwen so freely gave will continue to bloom in every heart she touched.
