(From Weng Funeral Chapel) Dillion Leroy Young passed away peacefully April 18, 2026 at Oak Pointe in Carthage, Missouri, at age 95. He was born June 10, 1930 in Larned, Kansas to Verdie and Callie (Creekmur) Young.
He graduated from Archie, Missouri where he met his first wife, Mary Lou Bruffett. They were married March 25, 1950. They had three daughters; Winona Knight, Patty Hoenshell (Gary), and Barbara Evans.
Mary Lou preceded him in death on July 12, 1974. He later married Bonnie Bender on July 3, 1976 and gained two more daughters; Brenda White(Tony) and Debbie Duncan. Bonnie preceded him in death September 8, 2012. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Although he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, he is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews. He served in the Army from 1952-1954. He was a lifelong farmer. Upon retirement he spent many years as a winter Texan in McAllen,Texas.
The family want to extend a special thanks to everyone at Oak Pointe for the care they provided to him.
Visitation is from 1:00-3:00 at Weng Funeral Chapel in Jasper, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mount Moriah Methodist Church or Paradise Cemetery.
