Nadene Woods

Gladys Nadene Woods, 86, passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2026, at Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehab Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri.

She was the last of 10 children born to Charles Russell Woods and Alma Gladys (Greer) Woods on December 13th, 1939 born in Dade County, Missouri. Nadene was preceded in death by Zella Marie (infant sister), brother Herschal Woods, sister Helen Loretta Hall, brother Robert Leroy Woods, sister Viola Fay Pierce, brother Ova Lean Woods, sister Myrtle Louise Guinn, brother Marvin Dale Woods, and brother Carl Russell Woods. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.








After graduating Lockwood High School in 1956, she worked at Hallmark Greeting Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. She later moved to Springfield, Missouri where she worked at Zenith Manufacturing as a payroll administrator. 

After retiring from Zenith, she held a customer service position for the Hallmark store in Springfield. Nadene’s two great passions in her life were her love for God and her love for her family. She spent her life being a faithful servant of God, helping in any way she could. 








Nadene attended the Antioch United Methodist Church and then later was a member of High Street Baptist Church, both in Springfield. She cared deeply for her extended family and enjoyed attending and hosting numerous family gatherings and reunions. Nadene also enjoyed cooking and working in her garden.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lockwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lockwood Cemetery. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
