Greg Hagebusch

(From Lakin Funeral Home)

Gregory "Greg" Allen Hagebusch, 64, of Wentworth, MO passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, with family by his side at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He was born in Austin, TX on Tuesday, May 23, 1961; son of Frederick Leslie "Les" and Gloria (Poage) Hagebusch. He was a 1979 graduate of Apple Valley High School in California. He married Kelley Rowe on Saturday, August 22, 1981, in Glendale, AZ.

Greg was known throughout his life for his hard work and dedication to his family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pierce City for nearly 30 years and their pastor over the last 8 years, a community he loved dearly to which he extended so much of his heart and time. Always busy, always available. Greg was a dedicated husband who cherished his wife, a father admired by his sons, and a grandfather adored by his grandchildren.

Greg enjoyed everything outdoors. He loved fishing and looked forward to hunting every year with his sons and grandchildren. He also enjoyed working with his hands and taking on new projects as he was a jack of all trades. If you knew Greg, you’d know that he loved to be goofy and make others laugh. He had quite a fun outgoing personality and displayed that proudly with his apparel choices that he’d often wear to church around holidays. He favored evening campfires and his cups (pots) of coffee.

Greg’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His love for Christ and his passion living for God’s glory is an example to us all. Yes, Greg passed away, but to where? Glory. Healed. Joyful. With the Christ you and I long to see with our own eyes.

Greg is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Kelley; his children, Duane (Lacy), and Davin (Courtney); and his grandchildren, Haylin, Huxton, LolaJo, August, LivyRae, Aubree, Harvey, and BirdieKate; his father, Les; his sister, Freda (Rick); and his nieces and nephews. He was greeted in heaven by his mother, Gloria Hagebusch.
