(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Jason Bartley Sayre, 49, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on April 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and quiet joy. He was born on April 16, 1976, in Elgin, Illinois, to Danny and Linda Sayre.
Jason was a proud graduate of Monett High School and continued his education at William Jewell College before earning his MBA from Baker University in Kansas. He built a life defined not only by his accomplishments, but by his curiosity, kindness, and deep appreciation for the world around him. An avid video gamer and devoted fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jason found joy in both the excitement of competition and the comfort of simple pleasures—especially a cold Dr. Pepper in hand. He had a passion for adventure, whether scuba diving beneath the waves, scaling rock faces, or camping under open skies. He also loved reading non-fiction adventure stories, always eager to learn and explore through the experiences of others.
Above all, Jason cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tiffany Sayre, and his three children, Gabriel, Josslyn, and Olivia, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Sayre-Davis, and his siblings, Danielle and Chad. Jason was a loved uncle to Escher, Ethan and Aspen Dollar and Hannah, Vivienne, Norah and Ezra Sayre.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Rick Davis and Danny Sayre, and his grandparents, Herschel and Beatrice Ellen (Pat) Lee along with Ollie and Faye Sayre. Jason will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his warmth, and the steady presence he brought to those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held in July in his hometown Monett, Missouri. A specific date and time will be announced at a later time.
