Tom Woodrum

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Thomas “Tom” Michael Woodrum, age 76, of Goodman, Missouri, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family and community.

Tom was born on April 17, 1950, in Neosho, Missouri, to John and Mary (Howard) Woodrum. He grew up with strong family values that shaped the man he became, and throughout his life he carried those lessons with him in the way he treated others. Known to many simply as Tom, he was a loving, spirited, and thoughtful man whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around him. He lived his life with quiet dignity, a kind heart, and a steadfast commitment to the people he loved.

On December 20, 1978, Tom married the love of his life, Loretta Heiskell, and together they shared 47 devoted years of marriage. Their union was blessed with one son, Jeremy Woodrum, who was a source of great pride and joy to him. Tom treasured his role as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he embraced each of those roles with warmth and sincerity. His family meant everything to him, and he found his greatest happiness in the moments spent with them.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Howard) Woodrum; his sister, Judy Lawson; his brother, Johnny Woodrum; and his in-laws, Ray Lawson, Helen Woodrum, Bill Holderman, Matt Thomas, Don and Dana Mettler, and Ray and Brenda Mustain. Though their absence was felt deeply, Tom carried their memory with him and honored the bonds of family throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Loretta Woodrum; his son, Jeremy Woodrum; four grandchildren, Michael, Sheldon, Randy, and Cella; bonus grandchildren, Miranda, Amber, Carinna, and Becca; and six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Mavis, Harper, Jayden, Jade, and Lucas. He is also survived by his sisters, Feebie Meisinger and Mary Thomas; his brothers, Larry Woodrum and Roger Woodrum; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and affection. His family will forever cherish the memories they made with him and the example he set through his faithfulness and care.

Tom spent his working years as a truck driver for Al’s Gas and he took pride in his work doing deliveries in the surrounding area. He was a man of God and full of faith, and his spiritual life was an important part of who he was. Tom was a dedicated member of Banner Nazarene Church in Anderson, Missouri, where he found fellowship, encouragement, and a place to serve alongside others who shared his beliefs.

In his free time, Tom enjoyed camping and fishing, pastimes that reflected his appreciation for the simple blessings of life. Whether he was spending time outdoors, sharing stories with loved ones, or enjoying the peace of a quiet day, he found joy in life’s meaningful moments. Those who knew him will remember his loving nature, his spirited personality, and the thoughtful way he cared for others. He had a way of making people feel valued, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Banner Nazarene Church in Anderson, Missouri. Pastor Dennis Bergen will officiate.
