(From Clark Funeral Home)Ronald Luke Short, 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 27, 2026.
He was born November 22, 1968, to Ronald Leland Short and Annette Darlene Disch. After graduating from McDonald County High School, he went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 10 years of honorable service.
Ronald was a true country man at heart. He was someone who loved the great outdoors and wasn’t afraid hard work – something he was good at. He loved fishing, hunting, shooting guns, and working with his hands. Ronald was a skilled farrier and he dedicated himself to his craft, forging horseshoes—including therapeutic shoes, for horses that needed them.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Tiffany Short of Neosho, his children, Ross (Kayla) Short and Jake Short; his siblings, Maria (Jamie) Bohannon of Neosho, Tonya (Stephen) Hatfield of Seneca, Missouri, and Donald (Desara) Short of Granby; and his five grandchildren, Kaden, Kyler, Koda, Kreedence, and Kayliana. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri. Funeral services will take place Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at Clark Funeral Home, with burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery.
