(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Dennis Lee Wade, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Dennis, son of the late Jack and Imogene (Brotherton) Wade, was born on July 9, 1943, in Joplin. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Karen Kelley, sharing 61 wonderful years together. After serving his country honorably in the United States Navy, Dennis worked in auto body repair most of his life in Southwest Missouri and San Diago, CA. After retiring, he and Karen moved to the Shell Knob area. 12 years ago, Dennis returned to the Joplin community to make his final home.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lover of all music, enjoyed dancing, and ice-cold beer. He was able to enjoy playing with one great granddaughter, Waelyn, weekly. He had a way of befriending strangers; everyone he came across was another new friend. His big-hearted kindness extended to the neighborhood, during his time at the lake, he liked to help his neighbors with the yard work. He became the neighborhood honorary grandpa, often fixing bikes, filling tires with air, and helping others with their cars.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Wade; his children, James Wade and Tammy Wade; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister.
A private family scattering ceremony will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery and Crematory, Joplin.
