Nellie Trasher

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Nellie May Thrasher, 85, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born on April 4, 1941, in Gravette, Arkansas, the youngest of three children born to the late John and Stella (Sherwood) Fout.

Nellie was raised in Anderson, Missouri, where she spent much of her childhood and formed the roots of the life she would later build. During her senior year of high school, she moved to Cardon, Ohio, where she completed her education and graduated from high school. After returning home to Anderson, she began the next chapter of her life, and on September 21, 1962, she married Darrel Donovan Thrasher.

Nellie devoted many years of faithful service to her work and was known for her strong work ethic and dependable nature. She retired in 2001 as a production control clerk from Sunbeam in Neosho, Missouri, after 32 and one-half years of service. At the time of her retirement, she was third in seniority, a reflection of both her longevity and the respect she earned through years of dedication.

Above all else, Nellie cherished her family. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Thrasher of Neosho, Missouri; two granddaughters, Debbie Cantrell and husband, Zach, and Donna Burton; three great-grandchildren, Donovan Parsons, Jeanette Parsons, and Donnie Burton; one great-great-granddaughter, Sophia Bostian; as well as a host of other family and friends. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in being present in their lives and celebrating their milestones. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and took great comfort in the bonds they shared. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-one years, Darrel Thrasher on April 3, 2024; a daughter, Marcia Robertson; and two siblings, Laura Mitchell and Charlie Fout.

Nellie was a member of Victory Road Church in Tiff City, where her faith remained an important part of her daily life. She was known for reading her Bible every morning, a habit that reflected the strength and consistency of her beliefs. She also enjoyed her afternoon soaps and keeping up with her friends, always valuing conversation, companionship, and the simple routines that brought her happiness.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Roland Keith officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Donovan Parsons, Zach Cantrell, Donnie Burton, Ethan Harp, Caleb Crow and Benjamin Harp.
