Vera Lee Tanner, 77, of Anderson, Missouri, was called home on Thursday morning, July 5, 2018, in the comfort of her home. Vera was born on January 10, 1941, to the late Thurman and Claire Embrey, in the Wanda Community near Stark City, Missouri. She married Herman Dean Tanner on March 6, 1960 and settled in the Bunker Hill Community where she lived for fifty-six years. She loved her family, friends, spending time with her great grandchildren and caring for her pets on the family farm.
Vera is survived by her husband, Herman Tanner of the home; a son, Jessie Joe Tanner and wife, Julie, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a daughter, Linda Sue Tanner of Bentonville, Arkansas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tanner are 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in the Tracy Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Tracy Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
