Jerry Wayne Pennington, Sr., 67, went to his eternal home on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Jerry was born on January 21, 1951 to James Edward Pennington and Alma Margerite “Smith”. He was a member of Faith and New Hope Church in Carterville, MO for 38 years and loved hunting with his grandsons.
Jerry was united in marriage to Lavona Sue “Jones” on December 4, 1976 in Carthage; she survives.
Jerry is also survived by four sons, Rob, Frank, Mike and Jerry Pennington; two brothers, Frank and Marvin Pennington; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Galtin, Brice, Brook, Drew, Melea, Mariah and Brett; and five great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bobby, Floyd James and Jimmy Ray Pennington.
Services will be held at Harvest Community Church in Avilla, MO on 96 Highway at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2018. Friends and family will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be at Harvey Cemetery.
