Sandra Lucille Brown, Granby, passed away peacefully after an unexpected illness on Sept. 29, 2018, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 26 days. She was born Nov. 3, 1937 in Cambridge, KS to Francis Nolan and Nellie Lucille (Ramage) Sturm and had spent most of her life in the Granby area. Sandra was a homemaker and had previously worked for Big Smith in Neosho, Sitler Ornaments, and as a caregiver. She enjoyed going to rodeos and to casinos.
Sandra married Calvin Brown on Oct. 31, 1954; he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2002. She is survived by three children: Vicki Lynn Dickey of Neosho, Michael Wayne Brown of Granby, and Randy Ray Brown of Joplin; one brother, Gerald Sturm and wife, Marcia of Neosho; two sisters, Karen Sue Kruse and husband, Jim of Nixa, MO and Diane Dickey of Neosho; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. In addition to her husband, Sandra was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Sturm and Glen Sturm and one sister, Peggy Judd.
Sandra’s remains have been taken for cremation. Memorial services will be held 3 pm on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel in Granby, MO, with Pastor James Keezer officiating; Tina Shadwick Hoskins will assist. A private family interment at Granby Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date.
