Mary Trisco

(From Derfelt Funeral Home)

Mary Kathryn (Frazier) Trisco, age 63 of Weir, KS, joined our lord and savior at 7:01 AM on Monday, August 5, 2019.

Mary was born on May 16, 1956 in Joplin, MO to the union of Bill Frazier and Maryanne (Langhals) Frazier. She had lived in the Cherokee County area all of her life, attended Columbus Schools, and was a believer in the Christian Faith.

For over 25 years, Mary worked for Head Start, beginning her career as a cook, and eventually working as a teacher. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Labette County Community College in May of 2008, and retired from Head Start around 2014. At home, her family regarded her as the best cook in the world. She enjoyed reading, crafting, and canning.

She had an incredible sewing talent, and made several sets of bridal party gowns and vests, even making her own wedding gown. She wore that gown to be united in marriage with James “Jim” C. Trisco on March 21, 1987, and he survives.

Additional survivors include her father, Bill Frazier; two sons, John Hess, and Zachary Trisco, both of Weir; three daughters, Catherine Marsh (husband, Rodney) of Weir, Cynthia Jones of Pittsburg, and Jonna Gomez of Pittsburg; one step-daughter, Cassie Schwartz (husband, Randy) of Union, MO; three brothers, Jimmy Frazier of Oronogo, MO, Tim Frazier of Jasper, MO, and Mark Frazier of Oronogo; one sister, Trish Henry (husband, Dwayne) of Lowell, AR; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maryanne Frazier; and one brother, Danny Frazier.
