Betty Lou Powers, age 88, Webb City, passed away at 5:07 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at her home.
Betty was born April 24, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Luther Cain and Emma Hafner Cain and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She worked in the environmental services department at the former St. John's Regional Medical Center for fifteen years. Following retirement, she enjoyed her time by caring for children at her home. She loved her family with all her heart and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Betty is survived by her children, Terry Bender and husband, Joe, James Robert Worden, Jr. and wife, Diane, Patty Jaggars and husband, Mike, Kristen Cain (her caregiver); a sister, Thelma Beffa; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Betty was preceded in death by two husbands; a daughter, Joyce Knoch; a son, David Worden; and several brothers and sisters.
Memorial services are planned for Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at South Side Community Church of God. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
