Ruth Wentworth

Ruth M. Wentworth, 72, Neosho, entered into rest on September 16, 2019 at her home, following an extended illness.

Ruth was born Dec. 8, 1946 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Walter C. and Barbara (Cowan) Pedersen. She had worked as a department manager for McDonald’s and as a pharmacy clerk. 

Ruth and her family moved to Neosho in 1973 from Springfield. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bird watching, she enjoyed going with her husband to barbershop harmony music events, listening to Wayne’s piano music and eating Wayne’s cooking. 

Ruth and R. Wayne Wentworth were married on March 31, 1967 in Bradenton, Florida and he survives. 








Additional survivors include four children, Bob Wentworth and wife, Cheryl of Carl Junction; Jennifer Cassel and husband Doug of Abrams, Wisconsin, Rebecca Koebbe of Edwardsville, Illinois and Sarah Wentworth of Birmingham, Alabama; nine grandchildren, Kira, Ryan, Douglas, Benjamin, Matthew, Samuel, Rachel, Ellie and Mikayla; three great grandchildren, Ayden, Jude and Maya; two brothers, Andre Pedersen and Bill Pedersen and two half brothers, Rob Menzies and John Jennerich. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Cassel, half sister, Tina and half brother, John Menzies. 

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at 2 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Neosho, Pastor Steve Gilmore will officiate. Contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to the First Lutheran Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
