Darlene Phillips

Darlene M. Phillips, 90, passed away September 18, 2019 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage. Darlene was born October 22, 1928 in Enterprise, KS to Harold and Irene “Gish” Schroeder. She graduated from Springfield High School and attended Draughan’s Business College. Darlene was a Carthage resident since 1967, a homemaker and employed at Carthage Hardware. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Carthage.

Darlene was united in marriage to Clyde Phillips on September 5, 1954 in Springfield; he preceded her in death July 23, 2010.








Darlene is survived by three sons, William “Bill” Clyde Phillips, Jr. (Cheryl) of Springfield, MO, Mark W. Phillips (Bonnie) of Loveland, OH and Jason Phillips of Leominster, MA; one son-in-law, Scott Brauburger (Janice) of Carthage; five grandchildren, Jordan Phillips (Laura), Christopher Phillips, Seth Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Rachael Allen (Darreon); three great grandchildren, Ella, Emerie and Eri Phillips.

Darlene was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Brauburger (October 2003); one daughter-in-law, Sandy Phillips; one brother, Jerry Schroeder; two sisters, Dorlene Long and Phyllis Branson.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.

Contributions may be made to the Church of Christ or Fairhaven Children’s Home in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
