Geneva Hodson

Mrs. Geneva L. Hodson, 89, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday evening, September 12, 2019, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Geneva entered this life on December 22, 1929, in Arnett, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Charles Walter and Hannah (Schlotthauer) Barton. She moved with her family to Tiff City, Missouri, at the age of five.

On December 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Rufus William Hodson and to this union two sons were born. She was a hardworking farmer and housewife, working alongside Rufus in the operation of their poultry and cattle farm. Geneva was a charter member of Buffalo Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-five years, Rufus Hodson on April 2, 1993; and three brothers, Bill, Sam and Marvin Barton.








Geneva is survived by her two sons, Harvey Hodson and Larry Hodson and wife, Carolyn all of Anderson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Buckner of Rogers, Arkansas and Midge Hatfield and Thelma Robbins both of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hodson are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastors Justin Steadman and Jared Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson.

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Tracy Hodson, Mike Hodson, Lee Hodson, Den Keith, Jeff Keeler and Jordan Keeler. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Buffalo Creek Baptist Church c/o the funeral home.
