Willard Tyler

Willard Gale Tyler, age 81, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital.

Gale was born November 12, 1937 in the Spurgeon Community, South of Joplin, to the late William Guy Tyler and Etta Mae Bartlemei Tyler and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.

Gale owned and operated Domestic Appliance for over fifty years. He was a member of the Joplin Elks Lodge #501 and served in the military police with the United States Air Force.

Gale loved entertaining-the Polish way! He loved to show off on the dance floor with his wife, in spite of his two left feet. He enjoyed time spent with family and grandchildren; being outdoors on the lake; fishing and hunting; golfing; and his dogs! Gale will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He married Patricia Ann Ceselski on January 28, 1961 in Pulaskifield, Missouri. She survives.










Additional survivors include three daughters, Rose Mary Knaust and Greg Stoneburner, Kimberling City; Susan Crutchfield and husband, Randy, Inola, Oklahoma; Liz “Charlie” Simon and husband, Jim, Joplin; two brothers, Kenneth and Floyd Tyler; grandchildren, Nick Simon, Kara Fields, Kylee Roe, Logan Simon, Brooke Knaust, Tyler Battershell, Colby Battershell; and great grandchildren, Keagan Roe, Kaden Roe, Layla Parker, Landen Parker, Matthew Simon, Benjamin Simon, Bryson Battershell and Layne Battershell.

In addition to his parents, Gale was preceded in death by seven siblings and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the Joplin Humane Society.

Memorial services are planned for Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Mercy Park Pavilion #1, 26th and Maiden Lane. Rev. Alan McCamey will officiate.

Per his request his body has been donated to science. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
